Last Day of Summer
Today, is our last day of summer. We went to the last free movie of the year, which was Madagascar 2. It's really cool how our local movie theater does free movies during the summer for the kids. We have quite thoroughly enjoyed them. We then went to eat with Daddy at Pizza Hut. The boys really enjoyed it. Since Eli is starting kindergarten we now have to worry about bringing a lunch/buying a hot lunch, bringing a snack, wearing tennis shoes on PE days, remembering to bring our library books back on library days, and making sure I am in the correct line at pick-up time. I am definitely more concerned about these things than Eli is. Sadly, I have given little to no thought of Landon starting preschool. I don't know why that is. Maybe because he has the same teacher Eli had, and I feel like I know what to expect. However, Landon is completely different kid so I am sure he's going to throw a curve ball in there somewhere. I know I will miss Landon tremendously when I have to come home tomorrow without him. I used to dream of the day when both boys would be in school when the boys were really little; however, as the days went on I quit dreaming and started dreading. I don't quite understand it. It's a perfectly normal thing to send your children to kindergarten and preschool, but I feel guilty about it. I feel like they are my responsibility and I am handing off my responsibility to someone else. I haven't felt that way the last two years Eli was in preschool. Probably because I still had Landon home with me. Anyways, I am sure once we all get a hang of things that guilt will go away. All that said, I am truly excited about this new era we are starting in the Durbin household.
